Safety switch STA

The robust metal safety switch STA is physically compatible with the proven EUCHNER safety switches TP and STP in the plastic housing. Due to its die-cast aluminum housing and the high degree of protection, IP 67, the switch can withstand even extreme ambient conditions. Like the switches TP and STP, the safety switch STA also has guard locking and guard lock monitoring. A large selection of switching elements is available. The switching contacts can switch a minimum current of 1 mA. The safety switch STA is therefore suitable for use in safe control systems.

Mechanical key release

Additional lock on the switch head. Function as for mechanical release. The mechanical key release setting is indicated in the window. Two keys are included.

Is used for releasing the guard locking with the aid of a tool. To protect against tampering, the mechanical release is sealed with sealing lacquer.

Guard locking types

STA3Closed-circuit current principle, guard locking by spring force. Release by control of AS-i output 0.
STA4Open-circuit current principle, guard locking by control of AS-i output 0. Release by spring force.

Control of the guard locking solenoid

The guard locking solenoid is controlled by the control system via AS-Interface bus bit D0. In addition the 24V connection can be switched safely.

Evaluation is performed via a safety monitor.

LED function display

  • The Power LED indicates there is operating voltage on the bus.
  • The Fault LED indicates if a fault has been detected on the AS-Interface bus.
  • The green and the red LEDs can be controlled as required by the control system via the bus using bits D1 and D2.
